International Game Technology (IGT), provider of sports betting and lottery solutions, has announced that it is expanding its sports betting operations in Colorado through an agreement with Ute Mountain Casino Hotel. The provider will supply its proprietary platform and allow on-site visitors to benefit from a better overall betting experience in the Centennial State.
Ute Mountain Casino and IGT Deal Details
IGT has agreed to provide Ute Mountain Casino Hotel with its leading PlaySports platform that enables the better management of sports betting offers. This includes turnkey services that come through the deployment of the self-service PlaySports Kiosks that enable sports fans to make a quick wager without consulting a writer or a cashier on the sportsbook floor.
The partnership reflects a broader ambition by IGT to continue and lead the way in the development and deployment of sports betting solutions in newly-regulated sports betting jurisdictions across the United States. Commenting on this partnership, Ute Mountain Casino general manager Rick Scheer said:
“Ute Mountain Casino has big plans for our sportsbooks scheduled to open end of August and we are confident that IGT’s PlaySports technology and experienced trading team will help us bring a new level of entertainment to our valued Mountain Rewards players.”
Scheer explained that IGT has been a trusted partner of the casino for many years and the expansion of the current offering beyond the casino segment was a welcomed next step. Personalized sports betting offers are at the core of the casino’s strategy, he concluded.
At the same time, IGT PlayDigital SVP Enrico Drago had a similar opinion to share. He congratulated the efforts of IGT’s experienced trading team at Ute Mountain Casino and said that through those efforts, IGT would be able to optimize the PlaySports platform and reach its full potential. In his words:
“IGT PlaySports has been processing sports wagers in Colorado since the first day of legalized sports betting in the State and we look forward to extending that momentum with Ute Mountain Casino.”
Presently, IGT’s PlaySports platform already powers 40 gaming outlets in the United States as the momentum for sports betting continues to grow.
Earlier this month, IGT PlaySports entered Washington to power sports betting at Snoqualmie Casino, making for another important partner on the company’s way to securing a bigger share of the existing sports betting landscape in the US. Sports betting in the country continues to become legalized at a rapid pace, with close to 30 states now either having fully launched their offers or on the way to do so.
Elsewhere, IGT has ensured that its VLTs continue to dominate the market share with the company leading a renewed charge in Western Canada at the beginning of the month.
