Grover Gaming Acquires Digital Dynamics Software

North Carolinian casino software developer Grover Gaming announced on Thursday that it had acquired the assets of Digital Dynamics Software, Inc, a gaming software firm based in Illinois. Through its newly acquired Chicago branch, the company is expanding into Illinois. Grover Gaming will now be able to improve its player experience and connect SAS-based electronic gaming equipment and casino communications to its proprietary software as a result of this acquisition.

SAS Engine, SAS Gateway, Backdrop casino management software, and the GAP gaming protocol are all products developed by Digital Dynamics Software. Grover Gaming plans to provide its clients with a number of features to make their casinos easier to manage and more effective. These features include floor-wide accounting and ticketing, real-time floor display, increased reporting, player tracking and awards. These will all be possible thanks to the integrated Backdrop host system.

What Does This Move Mean for the Future of Grover Gaming?

Grover Gaming has been focused on growth and expansion over the past few years. The company was founded in 2003 by Garrett Blackwelder and focuses on software development for land-based casinos. The company gave a statement when announcing the move, describing the beginning of the partnership and how it hopes it will be able to improve player experiences as a result.

Digital Dynamics was founded by Tony Antonucci and his partners in 1994 and focuses on SAS Engine software, background host systems, and SAS gateways. “We are very excited to join the Grover team and take our combined products to a new level and into new markets,” said Antonucci.

In a statement on the acquisition, the President of Grover Gaming, Garrett Blackwelder, had the following to say:

“This investment will play a crucial role in our company’s future growth, Tony Antonucci and his team have an incredible reputation in this industry.

Their GLI-certified system easily connects any SAS-based gaming devices and is designed to interoperate with system vendors worldwide. With their proven casino products and our games, we are excited about the new opportunities this will open for Grover Gaming.”

Blackwelder said in June:

“Even though we have added over 100 new employees in the past eighteen months, we are still making every effort to hire quality people every day. Fortunately, the pandemic did not slow down our hiring last year, and we firmly believe that having a game studio in Wilmington will enable us to expand our development team at a faster pace.”

Grover Gaming was just recently named in Inc. magazine’s list of the top 5000 fastest-growing companies in America for the third year in a row. With this acquisition, it looks set to continue to grow and adapt to the changing market.
