Betsson has become the first international sponsor of the Íbis Sport Club. The partnership was established through BetssonFC, the fantasy soccer game created by its namesake company. Íbis Sport Club players will now sport the BetssonFC logo on their shirts in a bid to boost awareness for the brand and embark on a series of initiatives together.
What Is the Objective of the Íbis Partnership?
Betsson’s partnership with Íbis Sport Club was not randomly selected. Instead, the company has purposely sought to team up with what is humorously described as “the worst team in the world.” Commenting on these events, Betsson managing partner for Brazil, Andre Gelfi, had this to say:
“The decision to choose Íbis was not by chance. The team built all its popularity with good humor, in a light and casual way and is very well seen by the whole soccer community. It is a unique opportunity to kick-start BetssonFC’s history. We are passionate about soccer and this is also a way to support and contribute to the development of the sport and its athletes.”
The partnership allows Betsson to reinforce the new fantasy games product that is promoted through BetssonFC. The fantasy platform includes over 12 championships and more than 400 tournaments connected to the best-known soccer leagues in the world. Participants have a chance to win various prizes that come with considerable price tags.
Commenting further on this partnership, Íbis president Ozir Ramos added:
“Big team attracts big team! We are honored by Betsson’s choice, and I have no doubt that this partnership will be a success for both sides. Our fans will excuse us, but I foresee many victories in the future.”
To further solidify their partnership, Betsson will work with Íbis outside the stadium. There will be a social project that will benefit both fans and the community in Paulista, where the soccer club is based. Betsson is similarly calling upon a familiar face: Íbis Sport Club’s idol, Mauro Shampoo, who is participating in a special advertising campaign for BetssonFC.
If you are not quite aware what BetssonFC is just yet, it’s a fantasy soccer platform that features 12 soccer leagues across numerous continents. The platform has access to Campeonato Brasileiro – Series A and B, Copa América, Copa do Brasil, Copa Sul-America and Copa Libertadores in South America and another six leagues in Europe, including Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, Europa League and Eurocup.
Betsson is a major regional player in South America and the company has teamed up with Scientific Games for the latter’s OpenGaming’s platform in Colombia. Furthermore, Betsson acquired Inkabet in August for $25 million as part of the company’s ongoing expansion efforts in the region.
