888 Holdings has inked a new partnership with Grand Prix of Portugal, marking a new step in the company’s ongoing efforts in the country. The casino group is operating in Portugal under the 888.pt brand and the present partnership coincides with the release of 888Casino, a dedicated igaming platform developed by the holding group.
Why Is 888 Signing the Grand Prix Partnership in Portugal?
The igaming operator’s sponsorship arrangement with Grand Prix of Portugal is described as a “winning bet” in an official press release, and focuses on motorcycling fans in the country. The company will use its own marketing assets to leverage its brand as well as gain visibility.
Grand Prix of Portugal will be held on April 18 and will be broadcast live from the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao. The event itself will feature some of the best motorcycle riders and racers, including Portuguese racing champion Miguel Oliveira.
This is the third race in the MotoGP World Championship. Thanks to its license, issued by Portugal’s Srij, 888Casino can now operate in the country and provide a safe and regulated gambling environment for players. The company brings a number of products, including slots, roulette and other in-house developed products.
Commenting on this partnership, 888 Portugal’s head of PT markets, Monica Rangel, said:

“We are very happy to welcome 888 as title sponsor for the Portuguese Grand Prix and see the 888 name take top billing at one of the most spectacular tracks on the calendar. 888 is a well-known and respected name in the field and we’re very happy to welcome them back to MotoGP.”
888 Holdings has signed several partnerships already this year, including one with the Shamrock Rovers. The partnership comes just in time for the Premier Division, which will start on March 19 and see Shamrock Rover as the defending champions. The team will further benefit from 888’s sponsorship as well, details about which were not disclosed.
Earlier this year, 888 extended its partnership through World Series of Poker with Caesars Interactive. The company will continue to be one of the leading platforms in the developing online poker market in America.
